Overview
What's Changing
Beamery is retiring the Talent Portals landing page and rebuilding an improved Job Alerts experience that will have engagement analytics. Candidates will continue to receive personalized Job Alert emails matching them with vacancies as they do today but links in those emails would route directly to your careers page or ATS vacancy listing instead of the Beamery-hosted landing page.
Why is Beamery making this change?
The reason is twofold, an improved candidate experience and a clear product focus.
On the candidate side, usage data indicates that the Talent Portal, as a destination, was not widely used. Less than 1% of CRM contacts actively engaged with it. Candidates were effectively navigating two separate destinations (an organization's careers site and the Beamery portal). And your careers site offers significantly richer content. Routing candidates directly to your site removes that friction and gets them to the right place faster.
On the product side, Beamery is simplifying its portfolio to invest more deeply in the capabilities that drive the most value. Rather than maintaining a separate portal, we are channelling that investment into rebuilding Job Alerts from the ground up, making it more reliable, more personalized, and a core part of our broader automated candidate nurture strategy.
When will this happen?
Talent Portals will be retired in September 2026. You will receive several reminders ahead of that date.
The New Job Alerts Experience
Will candidates still receive job alert emails?
Yes, and this experience is getting better with the addition of engagement analytics. Candidates will continue to receive personalised emails matched to their qualifications and preferences as they do today with improved reliability.
What happens when a candidate clicks on a job in an email?
Instead of being taken to a Beamery-hosted portal, candidates will be taken directly to the relevant vacancy on your careers page or ATS. This means a faster, simpler path from job alert to application, and keeps candidates on your branded experience throughout.
Will we be able to track candidate engagement with job alert emails?
Yes. Open rates, clicks, and other engagement signals will be tracked in the same way as your other campaign activity within Beamery, giving you a consistent view of candidate engagement across all your outreach.
Will AI job matching still work?
Yes. Beamery's AI matching continues to power the personalization behind every job alert email, connecting candidates to the most relevant vacancies for their skills and preferences.
Impact on Your Candidates
Will candidates still be able to manage their preferences and consent?
Yes. Preference and consent management will move to a Beamery Convert Form, a lightweight experience that requires no login. This works similarly to how the unsubscribe journey functions.
Will candidates need to log in to anything?
No. Candidates will no longer need to create or access a portal account. The sign-up and preference management flows are designed to work without any login.
Will there be any disruption in Job Alert sending?
No. Both systems will run in parallel during the transition to ensure everything is fully migrated.
How does the sign-up flow change for new candidates joining a talent community?
The new flow is simpler:
Today: Join Talent Community (your site) → Convert Form (Beamery) → Email verification → Talent Portal
Coming in September: Join Talent Community (your site) → Convert Form (Beamery) → Success screen
Impact on Your Team
Do we need to do anything to prepare?
No action is required from your team for either the destination change (job alert clicks routing to your careers site) or the simplified sign-up flow. Beamery will handle these changes automatically.
Will our CRM data or candidate records be affected?
No. Candidate records will continue to sync with Beamery as normal. All existing candidate data will be migrated over to the new Job Alerts system ahead of the portal being retired, so no data will be lost in the transition.
What happens to RSS feed content that currently appears in job alert emails?
Article content included at the bottom of job alert emails will be removed as part of this change.

There will also be an opportunity to test the new Job Alerts system before it is rolled out. Your Customer Success Manager will keep you informed on timing.
What is Beamery investing in instead?
Job Alerts is being rebuilt from scratch as a more reliable and scalable service, and is central to Beamery's strategy to help nurture candidates in the hiring pipeline and focusing on hiring outcomes.
