What are Cookies and Cache?
So what are your Cookies and Cache? Cookies are small pieces of data, created by websites you’ve visited, that are stored on your device. This collection of data is collectively known as your browser’s cache. It can help pages load faster, remember your settings and keep you logged in on trusted devices, making it easier for you to browse the web.
Why would you need to clear your cache, also known as deleting your cookies? You may encounter some common cache pitfalls when using Beamery or any other online application. These include:
- Conflicting user data - this often happens when switching between more than one account in the same application. It's always recommended to log out of the existing session before logging into a new one.
- Login issues - this can happen when authentication data becomes stale.
- Application errors - this is caused when a cache becomes corrupted and users may experience applications crashing or failing to load.
- Slow performance - over time, a cache can become large and cause a device to run slowly. Examples of Beamery issues include: Pools not loading, Campaigns not loading, and stale data in Reports.
It is important to know that clearing your browser’s cache and cookies means website settings (like usernames and passwords) will be deleted and some sites might initially load a bit slower. This is caused by the website images needing to be loaded again and a new cache built. You will likely need to re-login to all your applications when you clear your cache.

Tips for Managing your Cache
If web pages aren’t displaying correctly, you can try using your browser’s incognito or “private browsing” mode to see if the problem is caused by something other than cache or cookies.
If you need to login to Beamery with a new set of credentials (for example, a Sandbox account) make sure to sign out of the account you are currently using to avoid creating a conflicting cookie in your cache.
