Many recruiters have tried and true Boolean search strings or saved filters they know will work when they need to find a certain type of candidate. However, building a new search can be a time-consuming way to source candidates, and may always return the same results. Instead, try using a saved filter or existing Boolean search string to find an initial handful of contacts to kick-start Suggested Contacts. This will save you time and help you find relevant candidates that may not have been surfaced by your search. Follow these steps to use Boolean search and/or filters with Suggested Contacts.
- Create a new Pool, or you can use an existing Pool if you already have one.
- Use a Boolean search string or saved filter on the People Grid to surface candidates who meet your requisition criteria. You can also use a Boolean search string on other social media or job sites to find candidates. If so, use the Beamery Extension to create these candidates in Beamery, adding them to your Pool from step 1 automatically with Sourcing Settings.
- To start, add 5-8 of the most relevant candidates you find to the Pool from step 1. For Suggested Contacts to work, you must have at least one, but no more than 2,000 contacts in your pool.
- In your Pool from step 1, click on ‘Suggested Contacts’ and you will be presented with a list of suggested contacts who are likely to be a good fit for your Pool based on the candidates you already added. For more information on how Suggested Contacts comes up with suggestions, see this article.
-
Add or dismiss contacts from this list. As you do this, Suggested Contacts will learn more about what you’re looking for, and the suggestions will become more refined.
Using Boolean search and saved filters with Suggested Contacts is easy and efficient, allowing you to spend your time on more important things, like nurturing relationships with the great candidates that you’ve found!
