Beamery Job Architecture is designed to help teams configure ever-evolving role definitions on an ongoing basis. By editing role titles, summaries and removing roles when no longer required, teams ensure all aspects of a role stay up to date, not just the skills within them.
Edit Role Details
There are two key elements to be edited by a user when wanting to update specific role details - Role Title and Role Summary.
Updating a Role Title
- Within the Job Architecture Portal, navigate to a specific role.
- In the top right-hand corner, click on the three dot menu item.
- Within the menu item, click on ‘Edit role details’.
- Use the text box titled ‘Role name’ to adjust the specific Role Title.
- Confirm by clicking on ‘Save’, or click ‘Cancel’ to exit the process.
Updating a Role Summary
- Within the Job Architecture Portal, navigate to a specific role.
- In the top right-hand corner, click on the three dot menu item.
- Within the menu item, click on ‘Edit role details’.

- Confirm by clicking on ‘Save’, or click ‘Cancel’ to exit the process.
All changes made when editing role details will be reflected within the role History Log.
Archiving Roles
As skillsets evolve, specific roles themselves can become no longer required, and therefore must be deprecated. Within Beamery Job Architecture, this is done so by archiving a specific role.
Archiving a Role
- Within the Job Architecture Portal, navigate to a specific role.
- In the top right-hand corner, click on the three dot menu item.
- Within the menu item, click on ‘Archive role’.
- Confirm by clicking on ‘Archive role’ on the pop-up modal, or click ‘Cancel’ to exit the process.
Once a role is archived, the approval status will be reset to ‘Pending’, and the role will no longer be used within downstream workflows - for example Beamery AI Talent Match.
Viewing and Unarchiving a Role
- Within the Job Architecture Portal, navigate to the Roles table.
- In the top right-hand corner, click on ‘View archived roles’.
- To unarchive a role, click on a specific role in the Archived roles table.
- Click on the ‘Unarchive role’ button.
- Confirm by clicking on ‘Unarchive role’ on the pop-up modal, or click ‘Cancel’ to exit the process.
All archiving activity will be reflected within the role History log.
