How to View Labor Market Insights in the Job Architecture Portal

Last Updated:

Bringing Labor Market Insights to the Job Architecture Portal allows greater insight into individual roles, and offers a dynamic view of how skills are viewed outside of your organization. For each skill within your Job Profiles, you will be able to see the stability status (Emerging / Sunsetting), as well as the top Emerging skills for that role which you can use to make strategic decisions about your Job Architecture.

Viewing Labor Market Insights for a Role

Each role in the Job Architecture Portal has a column in the skills table labelled “Mkt trend”. Use this column to understand the Market Trend for the role and skill combination.

The Market Trend is calculated as the difference in the skill prevalence on postings for this role over the past 12 months compared to the preceding 36 months.

The Market Trend column indicates how each skill you have added to the role is perceived in the market as a whole. The skill can be stable, declining or emerging. If no data is found, there will be an empty state. Where a skill is emerging by 5% or more, a lightning icon will appear.

Viewing the Top Emerging Skills

Get a detailed look at top emerging skills for a role to help better align it to the general market trend. Click on the icon in the right hand sidebar next to the skill. This will open the Market Insights sidebar with a detailed view of the top emerging skills for the role.

The Market Insights panel will visually indicate which top skills are already present within the role composition. For any skills which are not currently present and the user wishes to add to the role, can be done so via the plus icon next to the skill title. This will prepopulate the add skill flow with the specific skill, ensuring maximum efficiency when trying to utilize market insights to enhance your Job Architecture.

Within the History Log, any skill which has been added via this workflow will now display that it was added via a Labor Market Insight.
