The data housed in your organization's Work Architecture serves to power downstream activities in many other systems - such as your HCM and Workforce Analytics dashboards. This means maintaining the appropriate governance over the data is key. With that in mind, Beamery's Work Architecture offers 3 distinct user roles:
- Skills Admin - Users who will be responsible for approving all changes in the Work Architecture (typically a 'skills lead' or skills SME).
- Skills Suggester - Users who will be responsible for proposing changes in the Work Architecture (typically a business leader / hiring manager / recruiter). These users will be able to see all suggestions, even those suggested by others, across the Work Architecture to minimize duplicative suggestions.
- Skills Read-only - Users who will be viewing the Work Architecture without making any changes (anyone else).
Assigning User Roles
User roles can be assigned in parallel with Beamery CRM user roles. For example, all Super Admins in Beamery CRM can be Skills Admin in Work Architecture. And, for more customers with more nuanced needs or for those without Beamery CRM, custom permissions can be created to meet individual needs. Please speak to your Beamery Account Manager or Customer Success Manager for more on custom permissions.
User Roles in the Role Comparison Tool
When viewing multiple roles in the Role Comparison tool:
- Skills Admin - can update the roles
- Skills Suggester - can view the roles only
- Skills Read-only - can view the roles only
Suggesting Skills
Individual Work Architecture users cannot make the same suggestion (skill, experience and is it required) on a role twice. This action will trigger an error message.
When suggesting a role change, a Skills Suggester must also identify a reason for the suggested change.
Updating Roles
Skills Admin users can find pending suggestions on each individual role where they can review the details of the suggestion and then choose to accept or reject the suggestions. After accepting or declining the suggestion, the role's history is updated to reflect the suggestion, the reason, the decision, and the date.
