How to Categorize Global Tags

Last Updated:

Global Tags allow your team to maintain a consistent tagging system across Beamery.

Global Tags are managed by system Admins who can create, edit and remove Global Tags from your account settings. All users can view the full list of available Global Tags in Settings.

Global Tags can be applied to Profiles, Pools, Vacancies and Recipes. This allows you to ensure structure and consistent categorization across Beamery. Global Tags become especially useful in reporting as most Beamery reports can be filtered by Global Tag.

Global Tag Categorization

We recommend creating Global Tags around specific categories by which you segment your candidates, for example:

  1. Hiring region - your library can consist of a region (e.g. APAC) and countries (e.g. APAC - India) so that you can identify candidates in APAC and/or those looking to hire into a particular territory
  2. Business Unit or Division - this would be the department in your organization (or a subsidiary) where the candidate would hire into (e.g. Southeast, Finance & Accounting)
  3. Persona/role type - this can be done at a high level to categorize contacts based on their work history (e.g. Data Engineering or Sales)
  4. Seniority - candidate seniority for role (e.g. Director, Entry Level)

It is possible to create Global Tags for other purposes, however we would advise taking a look at what already exists as standard in Beamery first to check if other candidate fields exist which may already tag the candidate in a relevant way. For example, you may want to use Global Tags for tagging candidate skills, however profile tags on a candidate's profile already fulfil this requirement. You may want to tag candidates according to how they were sourced, however there is a Source field for this. Ensuring that you don't create overlap when you establish your Global Tags helps to maintain data integrity.
