Using the Beamery Extension

The Beamery Extension is a powerful sourcing tool that allows you to add new candidates to your CRM and make updates to existing candidate profiles directly from web pages and social media profiles.

Incorporating the Beamery Extension into your candidate sourcing process allows you to quickly and easily add a candidate’s contact information, education, experience, resume, and more to Beamery as soon as you find it, without ever leaving their social profile. 

Using the Beamery Extension automates the manual contact creation process and can save you a lot of time - freeing you up to focus on core sourcing activities. When using the Beamery Extension, you can add candidates to Pools, apply Global Tags, and add them to Campaigns right from the Extension. What this means is you can begin nurturing relationships with candidates as soon as you find their profiles.

Getting to Know the Beamery Extension

The Beamery Extension can be used over most web pages and social profiles to add candidate profiles to Beamery, or update existing Beamery profiles. The Beamery Extension can be used on the public version of LinkedIn, LinkedIn Recruiter Lite and LinkedIn Recruiter. This means that you can view existing contacts and add new contacts when using LinkedIn Recruiter. However, LinkedIn Campaigns are not supported by the Beamery extension. 

Using the Beamery Extension in Chrome

To get started, make sure you've downloaded the Beamery Extension here. Once installed, open the extension over a webpage, click the Beamery Icon in your Chrome taskbar. Note that to use the Beamery Chrome Extension, you will need to be logged into the Beamery app.

The Extension can be closed by clicking this icon again, but note that you do not need to close the Extension as you move from one social profile to another. The extension will reload automatically on most social sites, including public LinkedIn, but you may need to re-open the extension when using LinkedIn Recruiter Lite.  


Creating Profiles with the Beamery Extension

When you land on a social media profile of a person who you would like to create a profile for, the Extension will first let you know if the person already exists in your database. If they do not, you will see the Create contact screen and the extension will auto populate the contact’s first and last name (1) to get you started. Then, enter the contact’s email address (2)  if you have it, or Beamery’s Extension will search publicly available data to help generate the email address once you create the contact. You’ll also have a field to upload a contact’s resume to their profile (3).

Next, you have some sourcing tools available. You’ll find easy access to log an activity (5), or automatically add a contact to Pools (6). Below your organization may allow you to add a contact directly to a vacancy (7). Then you’ll have a place to set the value for your custom fields (8). You can also set a Global Status, assign a source for the contact, or add any Global tags (9). Finally, at the bottom, you’ll find a setting to assign this contact to another user, or keep it defaulted to yourself (10). Once you’ve finished picking your settings, click Create contact (11) to load the contact into your database. And, when you're ready to start on a new project, click Reset (4) at the top of the Sourcing Settings to clear all fields (except for Source).

When you send a message in Linkedin using the Breamery Extension, Beamery automatically makes a record of the communication and saves it to the contact record in Beamery. 

 


Viewing Existing Profiles with the Beamery Extension

Once you have created a profile using the extension, or if you come across a profile that already exists in Beamery while browsing candidates on social media, you will see the Extension Profile for this candidate. Note that if the social URL isn't present on the existing profile in Beamery, the Chrome Extension won't be able to recognize an existing contact when revisiting their social page.

A. Help Center - Share your feedback, switch back to the previous version of the extension and explore documentation on the new design to answer all your questions.
B. Minimize the Extension - Click the Bexa in the top left to minimize the Extension back to the bubble in the corner of your screen.
C. Engagement Status - Know if an existing contact has already been engaged.

  1. Not Contacted - The candidate has not yet been contacted by you or anyone on your team.
  2. Contacted - The candidate has been emailed or sent a campaign message but has not yet replied.
  3. Engaged - The candidate has been contacted, and has replied. The last email interaction between you and the candidate was within the last 14 days.
  4. Slipping Away - The candidate has been contacted and has replied, but the last email interaction between you and the candidate was over 14 days ago.
  5. Do not contact - The candidate has been flagged as ‘do not contact’ and will be blocked from receiving any direct or campaign messages.
  6. Do not campaign - The candidate has been flagged as ‘do not campaign’ and will be blocked from receiving any campaign messages. The candidate is still able to receive direct messages. This engagement status can only be updated using a recipe action.

  1. Open in Beamery - open existing contact's profile in Beamery
  2. Do Not Contact -Mark a contact as Do Not Contact from within the Extension
  3. Archive - Quickly archive a contact

E. Profile Tabs

  1. Overview - See an overview of the contact’s information including contact details.
  2. Timeline - View the most recent activities on a contact's profile.
  3. Custom Fields - View any responses from contacts on fields that store additional information that your organization has decided it wants to capture.

F. Activity Highlights - See an overview of the most recent and relevant activities with this contact for Pools, Vacancies, Campaigns and Direct Emails.
G. Edit Contact Details - Update or add any additional contact information like email address, phone number, attachments or social links.
H. Email Address- Clicking on a contact’s email address allows you to send them an email without ever leaving the extension. Emails are auto-logged on a candidate’s profile.
I. Social Media Links - View all available social media links for the contact.
J. Global Status - View or change the Global Status of a contact (based on user role).
K. Global Tags - View, change, or add global tags to a contact’s Beamery profile from within the extension.
L. Profile Tags - Assign any profile tags in your Beamery CRM to an existing Contact from the extension. (Note that this feature does not allow you to create a new profile tag and must be added after you import a contact)
M. Assigned To - View or change who a contact is assigned to.
N. Pools - See any Pools a contact is in or add a contact to a Pool.
O. Vacancies - See any Vacancies a contact is associated with (based on user role).
P. Campaigns - See if a contact is a part of a Campaign and what the status of each email touch is within the campaign. Or add a contact to an active dynamic Campaign (based on user role).


Using the Extension in Workday

Leverage the Extension inside of Workday too. Launch the Extension from a job req in Workday to gain valuable insights including how many contacts Beamery's AI has identified within  your existing database that would be a good fit for the role.
