AutoPilot for the Beamery Extension is a powerful element of Beamery Automation. This feature helps you automate your sourcing efforts by importing your list of search results from Linkedin into Beamery.
Note: Autopilot may not be activated on your version of the Extension. To activate this feature or learn more about AutoPilot, please contact your Customer Success Manager.
How does AutoPilot work?
AutoPilot can be used to add candidates to your CRM quicker and easier than ever -- ready to be filtered, bulk actioned or automated into the most relevant channels. AutoPilot allows you to add contacts in the results of your LinkedIn searches to Beamery with just a single click.
AutoPilot is available on LinkedIn’s contact search and LinkedIn Projects (Talent Pools and Pipelines). Note that AutoPilot is not available for use on LinkedIn Campaigns.
Contacts added via AutoPilot populate your CRM with fresh profiles, including full name and public LinkedIn profile URLs. A PDF of each candidate’s social profile will also be added to the Beamery profile, and the information from this PDF will be parsed into the relevant fields on the candidate’s Beamery profile. Beamery's Sherlock enrichment engine then checks the URL for associated public profile data from other sites and adds this data to the Beamery profile as well.
The Extension with AutoPilot enables you to move your top-of-funnel searches directly into the CRM. AutoPilot also prevents duplicates by scanning your database and making sure only new candidates are added to your CRM. It can be used in conjunction with BeamAssist to automatically organize and take action on new contacts.
Start by opening the Extension over a Linkedin search results page. AutoPilot will appear automatically to give you the option to AutoBeam all of the profiles from each page of your search results into Beamery. You’ll see a number of total contacts that AutoPilot has found to beam in.
If you are using the Beamery Extension in Recruiter Mode, you will see a message letting you know that AutoPilot is ready to start on a list of contacts. Click the message or the floating Bexa to open AutoPilot.
There is a daily limit of 100 profiles that can be added to Beamery using AutoPilot. Each time you open AutoPilot in the Extension, you will see a message letting you know how much of your daily allowance remains.
If I have downloaded 10 profile PDFs without the Extension and then I run AutoPilot, it will try to add up to 100 contacts as the Extension does not have context, but it may stop at 90/100 contacts as LinkedIn prevents anymore PDFs being downloaded for the user for the day upon reaching the limit.
Please note that this limit will be reset on a daily basis at midnight UTC.
Next hit the Start Autopilot button. AutoPilot will begin to run, checking profiles against your current database. You’ll see the message “Contact added with Resume”, “Contact skipped because they don't have a resume” or “Contact already exists...skipped” depending on whether the profile was created with a resume, or if it was skipped to avoid incomplete profiles begin created, or skipped to avoid duplicating an existing contact.
If the contact could not be added because they did not have a resume, this is likely because either the resume was not available or due to an issue with connectivity. You will be able to review this in more depth once AutoPilot has finished.
Your AutoPilot will continue importing contacts until the list is complete, so keep the Extension open and allow it to run. Scrolling down through your search results will automatically add those contacts to the import list. Be mindful when importing large volumes of contacts, as a page refresh or navigating away from your results will also stop your AutoPilot.
If you’d like to pause AutoPilot, click the Pause button at any time, or if you would like to stop AutoPilot entirely, simply click the Stop button to end the import.
Once AutoPilot has completed the import, you will see a summary page. In this summary, you will see the number of contacts AutoPilot added to Beamery and the number of contacts left from your daily allowance. You will also see the number of contacts added with resumes, as well as the number of contacts who were skipped because they did not have a resume, because they are out of network, or because they already exist in your CRM.
Click ‘Yes, I am done’ to complete the import. After confirming that you are done, you will then see a page where you can click ‘All Contacts’ to open a drop-down menu which gives you the option to review the candidates that AutoPilot has just added. Select ‘Contacts skipped without resume’ to review the profiles that were skipped as they were without a resume. You may want to revisit these specific profiles in LinkedIn to create these profiles manuallly.
With so much aggregate data at your fingertips, we recommend always pairing AutoPilot with BeamAssist. This gives your new aggregate data a much-needed purpose.
Use BeamAssist to give your searches a target Pool or Vacancy so you can find them later and take further action. For example, you can add them to a Pool where someone can review contacts added via AutoPilot for profile data added by enrichment and assess the need for further contact information. Additionally, you can use BeamAssist to apply global tags or assign status or source information that will help further sort and segment your contacts down the road.
As you import your contacts, you want to make sure you are adhering to compliance regulations. Apply your Consent strategy using Beamery Comply Recipes to further automate this critical Opt-In gathering step, such as by using a pool to send a consent campaign to all contacts with an email address.
The combination of AutoPilot, BeamAssist and Recipes allows you to take powerful action in filling your top-of-funnel, in a fraction of the time it would take to add, sort and email contacts one-by-one.
